Picked up a car at Hertz (had to wait for 2 Hrs for more cars to be delivered from the Airport via Truck). It’s a recent SEAT (Spanish Fiat) in my favorite bitumen coloured grey (sarcasm intended). Despite only 26K Km on the clock it has seen better days. I haven’t driven a manual for about 40 years so getting out of Dublin was quite exciting. It’s easy to select 4th instead of 2nd and if it stalls then it can be cranked but not started. Eventually I found that you have to switch off the ignition before attempting to restart – wish they would tell you these things. It’s a diesel which is good for fuel economy (and price, it’s about 7 euro pence per litre cheaper than standard).
