The Kendalls

2nd Oct - Lanlivery and Lostwithiel

We drove down some fairly narrow single lane roads to get to the little village of Lanlivery. This is where my Kendall ancestors came from. My Great-Grandmother was Mary Kendall and grew up in their house there.




The little church is stuffed to the rafters with Kendall memorials. From 13th or 14th century onwards.

Here's one side of the Kendall home. As landowners they kept good records of Births etc. So now our tree goes back to 1270 or so!

The Kendalls were made custodians of Restormal castle by the Black Prince about 1200 or so? It's near Lostwithiel just down the hill from LanliverySo we visited.
