Castles

8th Oct - Fine (hot even :-)

In 1940/41 we were evacuated to little village called Llwyngwril in NW Wales. I thought it would be fun to see the village again. But I didn't recognise a thing... Of course I was only 5 or 6 at the time.

Then on to Fairbourne (the narrow gauge railway ends there). Unfortunately there is no car ferry (only passengers) over to Barmouth. But a couple of little Toll bridges did reduce the run around the estuary.

Then on to Harlech castle - very impressive

But it has been shot up a bit.
Seemed a bit high with  strong wind blowing.

Then onto Carnarvon - this castle in much better condition! But just s old.
