We visited Oxburgh hall. Quite close to where we are currently staying. The place is quite magical. Built in 1482 and hardly changed since. A perfect example of a semi-fortified moated house.
There is a lot of interesting history there - always fervently Catholic the family barely survived the worst Excesses of Henry the VIII. Mary Queen of Scots lived there before being taken off to the Tower. There is lock of her needlework there.
The view from one of the towers was terrific. Just perfect in every way and the weather was terrific.....
Sorry to hit you with so many blogs in one day but I have been suffering from poor 3G Broadband reception and lost a whole day last night. So brought an Ethernet cable today and am hard wired into Ed's ADSL modem router. Wonderful!
