Friday 3rd 40’+
We took a taxi to the Dubai Mall with ice skating rink, only a few families skating; Aquarium which we could walk around. You need to pay to go through the middle under the water and fishes. We didn’t pay. Walked forever to find supermarket and buy tea, etc. There were two waterfalls with silver men diving in midair. On the lake side were many tall buildings including the tallest in the world and small bridges. 47’c
15.50pm our Safari driver arrived to take 6 of us to the Dubai Desert for camel rides, us wobbly, camel protesting, rollercoaster rides over the dunes. John and I had to sign a paper in case of injury, us, being over 65 yrs. sliding, leaping (do cars leap?), sideways sand spraying in all directions, me, nearly screaming everyone holding on for dear life. One car stopped, person throwing up. Sun a round red ball set over the horizon in the smog. Then three course meal with any type of beer, soft drink and water as much as we could devour at the Arabian tent in the desert. Lights out so we could see the stars through the smog. Back to the Pearl Residence and cool rooms; John discovered he had lost his mobile somewhere in the desert.
Sounds like you had fun in the desert, glad it wasn't you throwing up. Hope your necks are OK after the trip
