16 & 17th Oct - Variable weather mostly fine
Drove down some incredibly narrow lanes to Jim Dartford's place. He has done a great job converting 4 'One up one down' cottages into one very nice house on 1 1/2 acres of land.
My sister Liz is a very frequent visitor. Here she is rustling up some food in the kitchen - she does amazingly well considering some major health battles.
Here Jim and I inspect the surrounding farm lands. You can regularly pick up Neolithic flint tools and arrow heads, and once a year the farmer invites the Metal detector enthusiasts from all over U.K. And they have turned up several Roman and Saxon hoards.
Betty spotted these wild deer from our bedroom window in the evening .
All together a nice gentle rural interlude from our hectic schedule.
