Stourhead landscape garden

28th Sep - misty then fine
Now and again you have to come up smelling of violets.
We visited THE most visited garden in UK on a day that started out quite misty and we had the whole place almost to ourselves. The garden was created in the 1740s and is really breath taking - even a non Gardner like me can appreciate 250 year old trees and all the various 'follies' sublimely positioned

Some trees really needed panoramic mode

As usual Betty enjoyed the Swans and Cygnets

Later the sun came out and the tourists started flooding in - but a perfect start to the day.
Sorry to wax so lyrical. The place really blew me away!
