Missed out this modest little folly from Stourhead. King Alfred's tower, which is triangular and over 100M high. We climbed the 250 plus steps to the top via a spiral staircase illuminated only by the windows shown here. The views from the top were terrific and worth the effort.

The 'Saxon' grave in Bruton churchyard - still looking bit stark after we had it cleaned a couple of years ago. My Gt.Gt. Grandfather and his son re buried there and numerous wives and children including many who died young.
